BANSV or B.A.N. Scalpel Vasectomy

Vasectomy is the operation which prevents a man from fathering further children. It does not affect sexual performance or general wellbeing.

No Scalpel Vasectomy is the modern technique, which is safer, less uncomfortable and has a shorter recovery time than Scalpel Vasectomy. The British Association of No Scalpel Vasectomists is working to replace Scalpel Vasectomy with No Scalpel Vasectomy as the standard procedure in the UK and abroad.

As our membership grows we hope No Scalpel Vasectomy will become available in centres all over the UK. The current situation is shown in our directory, which lists doctors providing No Scalpel Vasectomy.

Doctors providing No Scalpel Vasectomy are given various benefits by joining our association.

We offer training for doctors interested in the technique. Recommended reading are FFPHRC's Vasectomy Training Module and the RCOG guidelines on sterilization.
