BANSV is an association of doctors performing vasectomy by the most up to date method in non-hospital settings. The association exists to:
- Promote No Scalpel Vasectomy over Traditional Scalpel Vasectomy for men wishing to be sterilised
- Provide professional support to its membership by means of:
- an annual audit
- an annual conference
- peer review
- research opportunities
- liaison with other organisations
Members must:
- be performing No Scalpel Vasectomies (not the traditional operation which is being phased out -- see National Guidelines from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists).
- participate in the Annual Audit
- participate in the peer review programme
- pay an annual subscription of £40
In return, members may:
- use the initials MBANSV
- have their contact details on the BANSV website
- use the BANSV Audit Tool (available on request)
- pay a reduced annual conference fee
- receive approximately 10% discount on equipment purchased from Schuco International
- participate in BANSV research programmes
- and perhaps most importantly, enjoy the support and friendship of other vasectomists
